Have decided to do a year long embargo on news worldwide. I never used to look at any news, from about childhood/ John Craven’s News Round on TV until about 2007 when I started accessing news about 7/7 adn 9/11. I didn’t check email more than once a week back then, I didn’t have a TV and I didn’t buy newspapers. I used my mobile very minimally. I only started following news in about 2006. I still don’t have a TV.
So the idea is to digest only what I have accumulated so far. I will look at this blog and the first hand input from Hatter, M, Antoniatailor and readers, and emails from a few select friends nad work, but will not be doing my usual detour of all the other news sites to catch the headlines.
Then the energy saved from emotional responses being constantly churned out to the endless stream of bad news spewed upon the world, is instead going to be invested in creative/ doing projects around my home, garden, relationships to the real people I know, and also some personal body care like leg shaving, yoga, hair, face masks, and the reclaiming my home living space from all the chaos that has gotten churned out and about in it.
Because from childhood to 2006 I barely even existed online. My house, domestic and physical routine started going to sh*t I note, when I started being online so much – if I could pin point it exactly.
So whilst it is okay to watch select videos about astronomy, astrology, archaeology, permaculture, art, inspirational historical people and ancient history – I will no longer be able to comment or hold a knowledgeable conversation about the daily ups and downs of the world at large, or those ejits in Parliament – as I shall have completely checked out.
It will be like a hermit from the woods attemtping to comment on a world which he has lived apart from after a long retreat from the world.
The reason is that they are playing everyone like fiddles and it is obvious they are harvesting all the emotional torment generated. It is time to cut the strings that bind me to it and try something else.
If the new world is what I want then I have to start living in the new world and forget and about “this one”.
So happy yuletide everyone and I hope your still sol gives you huge energy, much clarity and great choices for the coming seasonal cycle!

I agree, reading those reports (Health Ranger, Stew Peters Show, etc.) drains me. Extremely.
And the fact that I have no TV does not help.
